Hi!
Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Creative Showcase. We are looking at Granny Apple Green this week. I really like this bright, cheerful green.
I started off with some Shimmery White cardstock, and then I smooshed it with some Granny Apple Green Ink. To do this, I used my Aqua Painter to add some water my largest clear block. I then used the Aqua Painter to add some GAG ink and then smooshed the cardstock over the ink. I let it dry a little and then repeated until I was happy with the look. Letting it dry between smooshes gives you a few 'tide lines' instead of one great big blob of ink.
A Silver Foil globe from the World Map dies - showing Australia, of course - was the perfect compliment to the sentiments I used on the front of the card. I backed my foil with an Adhesive sheet before die cutting, which makes adhering so much easier. I cropped a few stars from the left over foil to go on the front.
I couldn't do only half of the world, so the other globe went on the inside. I'd smooshed this piece of card when I did the front so that I only have one lot of mess to clean up. I hate when I don't remember to do the inside until after I've cleaned up!
As always, please pop on over to Catherine's blog, where you'll find the rest of the links to this week's Granny Apple Green cards.
Bye for now,
Tina
Oooo Tina. I love, love, love your card. The watercolour background is delightful and the world die cut with the Peace on Earth is so gorgeous. xxx
ReplyDeleteTina this is a stunning card - the way you've done the globes makes it just perfect for sending to overseas friends for Christmas. Thanks for inspiring us all with your Granny Apple Green card tonight!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I had to look twice at your reference to GAG ink - made me giggle. Granny Apple Green looks so good with silver and white. The composition of your card is beautiful, Tina.
ReplyDeleteCool card Tina, Granny Apple Green looks great with silver
ReplyDeleteVery clever use of the globe for a Christmas card.
ReplyDeleteYou had made for a minute though as to was GAG meant... then I read it again and worked it out! LOL.
Great card, Tina and the globe works wo well with the greeting. You make 'smooshing' ink sound so easy! I think I need a lesson from the expert!
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome card Tina. I was going to do a Granny Apple Green smoosh on my card too - until I realised I don’t have a GAG re-inker! Silver is the perfect colour to put with GAG!
ReplyDeleteHang on!!!! You haven’t used an embossing folder!!! What’s going on?? LOL
ReplyDeleteOoh great water colour smooshed background, looks awesome with those world dies!
ReplyDeleteTina, I love the "smooshing" of Granny Apple Green on the clean, white card - it's gorgeous! The silver foil compliments the fresh, clean look to your card. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI think that this may be one of my favourite Christmas cards for the season so far Tina. It is just fantastic. I have tried smooshing and just can't get the hang of it. I like you advice of letting your ink and paper dry between applications. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love how you created that sensational background in Granny Apple Green - lovely inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove this effect Tina, and in Granny Apple Green it really stands out. Beautiful card.
