JAI 601: Just Add A Sketch

 Hi!

It's time once again for a new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have a sketch for you, designed by Kim!

It's a fab sketch that leaves a lot of room for interpretation. I was in the mood to make a pop culture card, so I switched out the circle for this Orbital die cut from Uniquely Creative. It's super-sparkly, as I cut it from some white glimmer paper.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up, Ink Road Stamps, Kindred Stamps, Altenew, Uniquely Creative, Science Geeks, Bazinga, Galaxy Washi Tape, Orbital Die, Pop Culture Card

How cool is the background? I wish I had the talent to have created it! It's actually an extra-wide roll of Washi tape from Altenew, called (funnily enough) Galaxy. I just applied it to the front of my card and trimmed the excess. Instant wow! The scientist on the front is from a Kindred Stamps set, called Science Geeks, and the sentiment is from an Ink Road Stamps set, called Bazinga.

Unusually for me, I haven't started the inside of my card yet. I can't decide if I should put the scientist's best mate or best girl. What do you think? I'm sure I'll add one, or both, of them over the weekend.

You can join in our sketch challenge this week by adding your card to our linky. You can find it on the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll also find the rest of this week's Design team cards. I can't wait to see what you make!

Colour Creations: Soft Suede

 Hi!

Welcome back to the final Colour Creations Blog Hop for the 2021-22 series! We are finishing up with Soft Suede, but don't worry - we will be back again next week with one of the new In Colours. Soft Suede is not a favourite of mine - it's a bit of a strange brown. I really don't know how to describe it!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Nothing's Better Than, Light The Candles Kit, Love You More Than Dies, Neutrals DSP

I struggled for inspiration as a result, so I did a bit of a search on Google Images, and decided to CASE a Nothing's Better Than card made by Shelby Godby of Stamping Smiles.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Nothing's Better Than, Light The Candles Kit, Love You More Than Dies, Neutrals DSP

I used a different DSP and I also used a different pair of sentiments on the front of my card, but otherwise I stayed fairly true to Shelby's original card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Nothing's Better Than, Light The Candles Kit, Love You More Than Dies, Neutrals DSP

The inside sentiment is from the new Light The Candles Kit. The font doesn't match exactly, but it's close enough for me!

It's time to jump on over to the next blog in tonight's hop, which is my lovely friend, Christine Blain. She's had fun playing with a set of retiring dies.

Catherine Proctor always does a wonderful job keeping the hops running, and tonight is no exception. If you run into any difficulties with links, please pop on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all tonight's hoppers.

Colour Creations: Soft Sea Foam

 Hi!

Thanks for stopping by for our Colour Creations Soft Sea Foam Blog Hop. Are you a fan of the subtle green? I have to say, it's one of my least-used colours. It's a bit wishy-washy for me! I struggled for inspiration, and finally threw something together at 2pm this afternoon.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Biggest Wish, Beautiful Shapes Dies, Brilliant Wings Dies

I haven't played much with my new Beautiful Shapes Dies, so that's where I decided to start. I've been considering starting an English Paper Pieced quilt, so I think that hexagons were on my mind! I cropped a heap of SSF hexies and then arranged them over the front of my card. I had some thoughts of popping some up and leaving some flat, but in the end, all got popped up.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Biggest Wish, Beautiful Shapes Dies, Brilliant Wings Dies

I used my Brilliant Wings Dies to crop two of the largest butterflies - one in Silver Foil and one in Whisper White cardstock. I glued them together, but only at the body, and then glued it to the card. The double layer gives lovely dimension.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Biggest Wish, Beautiful Shapes Dies, Brilliant Wings Dies

I repeated the front in miniature for the inside, with the addition of a sentiment from Biggest Wish to match the front.

Time to jump on over to the next blog now, which just happens to be the wonderful Catherine Proctor. Not only does she make gorgeous cards, but she also keeps us all organised. She's also your go-to-gal in case you run into any problems with the hop.

JAI 599: Just Add Your Favourite Animal

Hi!

Here we are once again on a Friday, ready for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week Tristan has challenged us to add our favourite animal to our projects.

Hmm, what's your favourite animal? I'm not really sure that I have a favourite, so I decided to go in a bit of a lateral direction for my card!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Kindred Stamps, Just Add Ink, Showtime, Showtime Sentiments, Bloom Where You're Planted DSP, Wobble Spring

Hehe, are you old enough to remember this animal? I recently purchased the Kindred Stamps Showtime box, which featured a motley group of friends who love putting on shows. This dude is the drummer, and he loves bursting through walls.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Kindred Stamps, Just Add Ink, Showtime, Showtime Sentiments, Bloom Where You're Planted DSP, Wobble Spring

I popped him up on a wobble spring to add to the movement in the card. To create the opening in the wall, I used a circle die to cut an opening and then tore little sections away from the circle. I folded them back on themselves to keep the brick paper exposed rather than the pattern on the back of the paper.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Kindred Stamps, Just Add Ink, Showtime, Showtime Sentiments, Bloom Where You're Planted DSP, Wobble Spring

The inside features another character, and animal, from the Showtime box. I gave this card to my oldest son for his birthday. He's just turned 19 and is being left at home on his own for the first time, as we take the younger two away for a long weekend. He has to work, which is why he's not coming. So the sentiment on the front is a play on this - I've told him 'no wild parties' while we are away. Thankfully, he's not the type anyway!

That's all from me, but please jump on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find the rest of this week's favourite animal cards. You can also link up your card when you've decided which animal is your favourite.

Colour Creations: So Saffron

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for So Saffron week of the Colour Creations Blog Hops. So Saffron is in the Subtles colour family, and is a lovely, soft yellow. Having said that, I paired it with black and white for a gorgeously bold card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Blossoms In Bloom, Many Layered Blossoms, Tasteful Labels Dies, Subtle 3DEF

I used my retiring Blossoms In Bloom bundle for the card, cutting the top layer from Whisper White (with Adhesive Sheet attached) and the second layer from So Saffron. Black Mini Stampin' Dimensionals pop the two layers up over the Basic Black background.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Blossoms In Bloom, Many Layered Blossoms, Tasteful Labels Dies, Subtle 3DEF

The resting Tasteful Labels dies were used to crop the sentiment, with the gorgeous Glitter Organdy ribbon layered underneath. The Black version of the ribbon is retiring (sob!), but the White will carry over (yay!).

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Blossoms In Bloom, Many Layered Blossoms, Tasteful Labels Dies, Subtle 3DEF

I used the top layer die again to crop a piece of So Saffron for the inside. Using Adhesive Sheets on these delicate die cuts makes them so much easier to adhere to the layer underneath!

That's all from me tonight, but please do continue on your way around our blog hop. Just keep jumping until you get back to where you started. The next stop along the way is my lovely friend, and fellow South Aussie, Andrea Sargent. I'm sure she'll have a visual treat for your eyes!

As always, if you run into problems with links, Cathy Proctor is the person to know! Pop on over to her blog to get yourself sorted out.

CTC 364: CASE An Easter Project

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. This week we are asking you to CASE an Easter project from either of the two current catalogues.

I don't usually send Easter cards, so I went looking for a project that could easily be made into a birthday card. I found this gem on page 77 of the Jan-June Mini.

I loved the three horizontal stripes on the background of the card, and the cluster of strips that makes up the bunch of stems.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Sweet As A Peach, Pierced Blooms Dies, Decorative Dots EF

I don't own the Daffodil Daydream bundle, so I substituted for the soon-to-retire Pierced Blooms Dies. I just trimmed some strips of Soft Succulent cardstock and DSP to use for the stems.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Sweet As A Peach, Pierced Blooms Dies, Decorative Dots EF

I also used some Pale Papaya Shimmer Vellum instead of the stamped stripes. I embossed it with the long-retired Decorative Dots EF. I am a bit lacking in embossing folders lately, so this was my best option.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Sweet As A Peach, Pierced Blooms Dies, Decorative Dots EF

I used some offcuts to complete the inside of the card. The sentiments on the card are from the Sweet As A Peach stamp set

We'd love for you to play along with us for our challenge. Just make a suitable card and add a photo to our Facebook group. It's that easy!

For now though, please continue your way around our Blog Hop. The next stop is the lovely Julia Quinn, with an absolutely gorgeous card.

JAI 598: Just Add Colour

 Hi!

Thanks goodness for Friday's, hey! I've had a busy week and I'm looking forward to a more relaxed weekend - how about you? Why not start it off by joining in with our new challenge at Just Add Ink?

Chantell has chosen this gorgeous colour palette to play with. It's definitely a combo on the more masculine side of the scale, don't you think? I was in the mood for quick and easy, so I went for a bit of a modern, graphic feel to my card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, Biggest Wish, Label Me Bold, Stitched Triangles Dies, Masculine Card

I'm a bit sad that the Stitched Triangles Dies are retiring - I don't feel like I've used them anywhere near enough. They are a great basic set to have, and I will certainly be keeping hold of them. I used one of the middle sized isosceles triangles to crop a triangle from each of the challenge colours. I pretty much then just dropped them onto my Whisper White card base to see how they fell. After a little nudging, I settled on the above arrangement.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, Biggest Wish, Label Me Bold, Stitched Triangles Dies, Masculine Card

The sentiment is from Biggest Wish, which is carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue -yay!! The little cluster of crosses is also from the stamp set, but often overlooked. It's a great little gap filler!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, Biggest Wish, Label Me Bold, Stitched Triangles Dies, Masculine Card

The second stamp set that I used is Label Me Bold. I liked the look of it layered over the top of the large Biggest Wish stamps.

That's all from me for tonight, but your part in the challenge is just beginning. Jump on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find the rest of this week's Design Team cards. You can also link up your card for our Colour Combo challenge.

Colour Creations: Smoky Slate

 Hi!

Welcome back to my blog for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are nearing the end of this round, starting the final month with Smoky Slate. It's a lovely, pale grey from the Neutrals colour family. I decided to pair it with some retiring dies that will find a place in my permanent collection - Suit & Tie Dies.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, A Good Man, Suit & Tie Dies, A Good Man, Masculine Card

There's nothing particularly fancy about my card tonight, but that's OK. I think masculine cards tend to be less fancy on the whole. What do you think?

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, A Good Man, Suit & Tie Dies, A Good Man, Masculine Card

To get a faux fabric look, I embossed the Smoky Slate cardstock with the Tasteful Textile 3DEF. Very sadly, this embossing folder is retiring. The stamp set that I used, A Good Man, is (you guessed it) also retiring.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, A Good Man, Suit & Tie Dies, A Good Man, Masculine Card

I used some Smoky Slate DSP to create the ties for my card. I cropped the full tie, and then a second piece for the knot. I like how it gives a more 3D effect with very little extra effort.

That's all from me for tonight - short and sweet, as I celebrate my 20th Wedding Anniversary with a special dinner with my family!

The next stop along the way is my love friend, Rachel Palmieri. I'm sure she's got a cracker of a card to see!

If you get stuck, pop on over to Catherine Proctor's blog - she has a list of all participants to help get you back on track!

Bron's Birthday Blog Hop - April

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for a new Blog Hop tonight. My friend Bron Eastley is celebrating her 60th birthday with six blog hops over the next six months, each with a fun theme. April is the first month and we are using the photograph that is the header on Bron's blog, Addinktive Designs, as our inspiration.

I straight away had thoughts of a trip to the beach, and I knew I had the perfect stamp set in my collection.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Ink Road Stamps, Claire, Light The Candles Kit, Waves Of The Ocean DSP

The stamp set is called Claire, and it's from Ink Road Stamps. I coloured her using my Copic markers with colours that coordinated with the Waves Of The Ocean DSP from Stampin' Up!. Aren't they a great combo? And I had to laugh at the sentiment.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Ink Road Stamps, Claire, Light The Candles Kit, Waves Of The Ocean DSP

I stamped my beachy girl again on the inside, but this time I paired her with a sentiment from the new SU kit, Light The Candles. I masked off the first 'Happy' so that it was a bit more adult.

Thanks for stopping by, but please do continue your trip around all of the blogs tonight. The next stop is Jan Clothier. I can't wait to see what everyone makes!

Bye for now,

Tina
