Hi!
Gee this week is flying by! I can't believe it's Wednesday already. Apologies for the lack of posting this week. My eldest son Alex spent the afternoon/evening in hospital on Monday after a bit of an accident with boiling water. He's a very lucky boy - although the water hit him from his cheek down his back to his waist he only ended up with small burns on his shoulder. Thankfully a quick acting teacher got him into a cold shower and managed to prevent the burns from being any worse than they are. But then he had a reaction to the first lot of dressings that were applied at the hospital, so back we had to go to get them done again. What's a bit more stress in an already stressful life? lol
But seriously, he was sooo lucky. There are so many others who aren't so lucky. A fellow Think Inker's little man suffered some very serious burns recently, my heart goes out to him and his family xox.
I'll get back to regular posting soon. I've had a few workshops and classes this month so I have plenty of projects to show you. I'm starting some in home classes soon. If you live in the South of Adelaide and are interested in attending, please sign up for my newsletter. July's class will be a Christmas themed Stamp A Stack.
Catch you later,
Tina

Designer Series Paper Blog Hop
Hi!
Welcome to our blog hop. A small group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators are hosting a blog hop to showcase some of the gorgeous Designer Series Paper we sell. I'm sure you'll be very inspired by the projects you see as you hop around all the blogs. There are 7 blogs on the hop, with the blog before mine being the very creative Di Dunk.
For my project I decided to scrap a layout inspired not only by the DSP I have in my stash, but also by some song lyrics. Last week at playgroup we sang "You Are My Sunshine" with the children. I got a bit teary remembering that it was the very first song I sang to my eldest child Alex just after he was born. It was one of those moments where nothing else existed, just him and me and the song. A very special moment.
The layout took me AGES, but I was really please with how it came together. I started with Basic Grey 12x12 cardstock and built up from there. The hills were cut from the Woodland Walk and Greenhouse Gala DSP packs. I hand drew a line just inside each of the elements to give them some definition and also to give a bit of a whimsical look.
I hand drew the clouds on a piece of Basic Grey Patterns Stack DSP and then cut around each one. I drew some in each direction for a bit of interest. Each cloud is popped up on some Dimensionals and I used some Basic Jewel Rhinestones to represent the rain. The sun uses Greenhouse Gala DSP. I had a lot of thin scraps of the Daffodil Delight pattern, so it was great to use them up as the rays of the sun.
For the house I used Love Letter DSP and my scallop edge punch to make the roof. I just punched a heap of thin strips and adhered them to a piece of cardstock cut to shape of the roof overlapping each layer. The flowers in the flower box were punched with the smallest flower in the Boho Blossoms punch. I drew around them too and added a black centre. The middle flower is popped up on a Dimensional.
The apple tree is just a whole heap of punched circles of different sizes using the Woodland Walk, Greenhouse Gala and Love Letter DSP packs. The tree trunk was hand drawn and cut from the Woodland Walk DSP.
Phew! I think that's all the relevant details about how I completed my layout. Now you're off to see what the wonderful Margaret Knoops has created to inspire you.

Another Card for my Nephew
Hi!
I'm back again, as promised, with the second card I made for my nephew's first birthday. This is the card I made for us to give to him.
I'm back again, as promised, with the second card I made for my nephew's first birthday. This is the card I made for us to give to him.
I went for the monochromatic look again with this card, using Peach Parfait. The star shape uses the negative - I discarded the star punchie and used the remaining DSP instead, backing it with Whisper White cardstock.
DSP/Cardstock: Hostess In Colour Patterns DSP, Peach Parfait, Whisper White
Other: Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Dies, Star XL Punch, Peach Parfait Stitched Poly Ribbon

A Birthday Card for a One Year Old
Hi!
Today's card was one I made for my mother and father in law to give to my nephew for his first birthday. He's such a cheeky little thing so what else could I use but the monkey from Fox and Friends?
Stamps: Fox and Friends, Polka Dot Background (retired)
Ink: Marina Mist
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Very Vanilla
Other: Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Dies, Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals, Circle Cutter
I'll be back in a day or so with the card I made for us to give to him.

Another Sneak Peek!
Hi!
Today's card is one I made a little while ago. I used both of the stamp sets Stampin' Up! Demonstrators got as a part of their Convention kit. They will appear in the next Idea Book and Catalogue. The idea for the card came from the display boards at Convention - one of the perks of being a Demonstrator is the wonderful gifts and inspiration you get from Convention (as well as meeting a LOT of wonderful people!). Anyway, here's the card:
Such a pretty card, but so quick and simple!
Stamps: Creative Elements, It's Your Day (not released yet)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Old Olive
Cardstock: Whisper White
Other: Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Stamp Positioner

Layout 36: March
Hi!
Another layout for you today. This is the third of my monthly summary layouts, where I scrap photos of things we have done during the month. I have used the papers and colours from the gorgeous Woodland Walk DSP for my layout.
A closer look at the left hand side.
And the right hand side.
Finally, in case you were wondering how I got the shape of the journalling box.
I just traced and hand cut the bit of the tissue box you would normally rip out and throw away. I then matted it on more cardstock and hand cut around the shape again. Easy peasy, and something a little different for my layout.
DSP/Cardstock: Woodland Walk DSP, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip
Other: Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Die, Circle Cutter

A Sneak Peek!
Hi!
Today's card was made for the latest challenge at Just Add Ink, which was to Just Add Black and White. I have been working a lot with black lately, so I decided to use mostly white for my card.
The sentiment is from Vintage Vogue, but the rest of the images are from a stamp set that will appear in the upcoming Idea Book and Catalogue. The flourish image is a line image which I have then coloured sections of with my Basic Black marker.
The butterflies were popped up on dimensionals and have a pearl in the centre of their bodies. I used more pearls on either side of the sentiment.
Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Creative Elements
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Whisper White
Other: Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Basic Pearl Jewels, Stamp Positioner

Layout 35: Armageddon
Hi!
Today's layout was scrapped ages ago, but I hadn't completed the journalling 'til just now. Rob and Alex went to a Comic Book/Sci Fi Convention called Armageddon earlier this year. Rob took his camera along as he knows by now that I expect photos so I can scrap them! It took so long to get the journalling done as I wasn't sure which characters were in some of the photos and I never seemed to think about asking Rob when I was scrapping.
For those of you without superhero obsessed sons (or husbands!) the symbol I recreated is the Green Lantern's. Alex wore a Green Lantern t-shirt and as he is in all the photos I used it as the main inspiration for the layout. By the way, the title is straight, it just looks crooked in the photo.
Alex was pretty chuffed as he beat Rob in a game of Magic: The Gathering.
He looks so small in the toy 'packaging'. Is it just me or is it slightly weird that they built it adult sized?
Cardstock: Garden Green, Basic Black, Whisper White

Stamp A Memory June Challenge: a special moment
Hi!
This month the challenge at Stamp A Memory is to use buttons as the main embellishment. Now, I'm an embellishment hoarder, as I'm sure many of you are, so this challenge was perfect as a push for me to start digging into that stash of buttons hiding in my drawer.
I took the photo on Rob's mobile phone when we were away visiting family a couple of weeks ago. I just happened to 'catch' Ada and her cousin Zoe lying on Zoe's bed reading a book together. Both girls love reading, so I used a stamp I purchased at Convention as a little subtitle. I only used part of the image, but the part I used reads: Share what you love. I thought it was the perfect little touch for the layout. I used the flap section of a Scallop Envelope to stamp it on.
The button card stamp from the Sew Suite set was the perfect compliment to the challenge. I used one a a button card and the other 2 as journalling spots.
I hope you're inspired to enter the June Challenge. Why don't you pop on over to the Stamp A Memory blog to see what the other girls have come up with? I'm sure it will be a feast for your eyes!
Stamps: Sew Suite, Love What You Do (Convention 2011)
Ink: Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Black Stazon
DSP/Cardstock: Sweet Stitches DSP, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight
Other: Big Shot, Scallop Envelope Die, Heart and Brackets Die, Timeless Type Alphabet Die, Designer Buttons, Mini Glue Dots, Window Sheet (Medium), Crop-A-Dile, White Eyelet (non SU), Paper Snips, Stamp Positioner,

Just Add Ink #70
Hi!
Today's project is the start of a mini album I am making to document my trip to Convention in Melbourne last month. I decided I'd use the current sketch challenge at Just Add Ink as the basis for my front cover.
I saved all the tags and other bits and pieces from the trip to use as embellishments. The tag in the round section was from an apron I purchased at Momento Mall. I love the sentiment and it totally sums up what Stampin' Up! is all about. The green square was a badge I was given at registration and says "My first Convention". Rob managed to remove the pin from the back so it would sit flat and not damage the other pages.
I'm itching to get in and complete the rest of the album, but it's a bit tricky given that I haven't printed off any photos yet! I'll post more of the pages once I complete them.
Cardstock: Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Other: Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Dies, Circle Cutter, Tangerine Tango Pompom trim, Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Layout 32: Medal
Hi!
Hmm, I've been a little slack on the blogging front lately. It's just been one of those weeks. I've also been slack in keeping up with my scrapping. I wanted to complete 100 layouts this year, and this layout is only number 32. Given that it's the end of the first week of June I should be roughly up to layout number 44. Still totally do-able, but I need to get cracking a little! I have a few more layouts up my sleeve ready to show you this week, including two for the Stamp A Memory blog. You'll have to come back on Monday for the first of those and Wednesday for the second. Anyway...
Today's layout is one I completed before I went off to Convention. The photos were taken at Alex and Ada's Little Athletics Presentation Day.
They were both pretty excited to be awarded a medal and certificate for their efforts during the season. I highlighted the title 'medal' by using my Soft Suede Marker to edge each of the letters. It provides a cleaner line than sponging. Just ignore the little oopsie on the letter a!
One of my favourite ways to use the Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel is to roll a section and then cut out the individual stars and use them as embellishments.
Stamps: Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
DSP/Cardstock: Elegant Soiree DSP, Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze, Soft Suede
Other: Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Dies, Hearts and Brackets Die, Paper Snips, Sponge Daubers, Spiral Border Punch
